An insurance billing/coding professional should have a high school diploma. An associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree may be helpful. Excellent academic credentials and the ability to make use of Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Prior experience in insurance billing/coding might be required for senior or managerial positions.
