Insurance Specialist Jobs
An insurance specialist is responsible for providing expert advice or guidance in various matters relating to insurance. Some of the specific duties of an insurance specialist are ensuring that all issues reported are thoroughly investigated and resolutions are brought in consistence with company's and client's standards; overseeing the claims management activities of workers’ compensation, property, and auto claims by contracted adjusters; providing analysis on key metrics pertaining to claims programs; analyzing claims data and identifying needed loss control interventions; assisting with the development of loss prevention programs; assisting with corporate placement and renewal duties; and performing various duties as directed by the supervisor. An insurance specialist typically reports to an insurance manager.
An insurance specialist should have an associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in finance or insurance. Excellent academic credentials are essential. Prior experience working as an insurance specialist may be helpful.
