Role Value Proposition:
seeking a Lead Business Analyst to help support a critical MetLife application in the Actuarial domain. The application is used to manage Reserves for the MetLife Enterprise and responsible for significant reporting (e.g., internal and external disclosures, etc.). This Analyst role requires knowledge and understanding of Actuarial and Finance concepts. We are looking for a dynamic team player who can help build and create customer centric solutions, work with the business product owners and the application development teams to capture the right solution. The role requires strong communication, analysis skills, problem-solving skills, and driven by passion and purpose. We are looking for you to work on this product team as a Lead BSA, to help deliver this vision.
Collaborate with business and technical leads and team up to help deliver timely and quality driven application solutions.
Create business and technical specifications to be used to enhance the application.
Assist with researching, designing, documenting and delivering solutions to alleviate environmental and performance issues.
Work with Product Managers to understand the business problems, and define the customer solution
Ideate, develop and refine options to define the right solution
Partner with solution architecture, software engineering and product teams to develop solution
Develop Solution outline to identify key product capabilities
Develop epics, feature and user stories that are consumable by the software engineering team
Have a technical bent to dig into technology aspects of the solution
Participate in scrum team to provide clarifications and guidance to team
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Finance/Accounting or related field
8-10 years related work experience within Insurance domains such as Actuarial, Finance/Accounting
Experience with Agile methodology (e.g., Product Owner, Scrum Master, Product Backlog, Sprint Planning, etc.)
Experience working with business partners in order to drive decision making and potential solutions
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Experience/knowledge of testing including creating master test plans, unit/QA testing, web application testing, etc.
Experience with Project Management and creating Business Requirements, User Stories, etc.
Experience with the People Soft accounting package a major plus.
Tools and Technical Skills
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Skype), MS Project, SQL, JIRA, QC, SharePoint/SharePoint 0365, MS Outlook, IBM Cognos, MS Visio, Test cases, Test scripts, Data Modeling, Research, Analytics, UAT, Oracle DB and Query Tools (e.g., Toad, etc.).
