Role Value Proposition:
Retirement & Income Solutions (RIS) business is in the process of launching multiple new products under the New Horizon strategy. Each product will require input from valuation, model development, data analysis, process design, and ongoing maintenance and financial reporting. Further, RIS Operations continues to require assistance in analyzing data quality of existing policies, particularly older PRT business on projects that have focused on electronic death match, bulk check, and escheatment. RIS Actuarial is taking a greater role in analyzing data sets and providing valuable feedback to ensure appropriate processing of administrative records and financial reporting.
This role will be focused on both process improvements in RIS valuation and new products, working with RIS operations and IT to fix data issues or enhance valuation data inputs, and developing analysis tools/models in support of new products and enhanced data analysis. They will be supported by and work closely with the rest of the actuarial team, as well as support LDTI on reinsurance and Policyholder Benefit analyses. This role will have very close ties to the CFO and business teams currently located in NYC and could benefit from being co-located in NYC with them.
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or related discipline.
5 years of actuarial experience
ASA is required
Strong understanding of the valuation of liabilities
Strong oral and written communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Experience with Alteryx, Oracle SQL, PolySystems, and/or Prophet a plus
Fellow of the Society of Actuaries preferred
