Provide pricing and analytical support for the Global Property function.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES, INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Price individual transactions for various segments of the Global Property portfolio
Discuss and review account issues with underwriters and management
Assist Property CUO with risk aggregation methodology and capabilities
Work closely with operating company actuaries to ensure that pricing, and the models used in support, are consistent across platforms and adhere to the technical pricing requirements of each jurisdiction. Work with the VCaps platform to identify ways to integrate the tool into the AIG environment
Assist in developing the capability to price property reinsurance solutions in-house. Work on treaty cost allocation methodology
Work closely with operating company actuaries to develop and validate planned loss ratios in support of the business planning process
Investigation and integration of third-party solutions to augment in-house actuarial capabilities
Provide analytical support to the AIG Research team and leverage Research expertise in actuarial projects
Work with Actuarial Pricing team to perform pricing analyses when required
Build, enhance and maintain proprietary pricing models for property classes of business
Work with actuarial department to source tracked rate change, loss development and loss trends for property classes of business
Develop profitability studies to assist underwriters and management
Other duties as required
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, statistics, actuarial or related quantitative field
FCAS designation is preferred
Preferred minimum of ten years of experience in pricing role with hands on work in most VSU lines of business
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications
Experience with VBA, SQL, R and/or other programming languages would be an asset
Proven organizational and timekeeping skills, and a strong sense of attention to detail are essential
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills (i.e., a thorough command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar and punctuation
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with clients and colleagues, and to exercise discretion and confidentiality in all matters
Must be able to work outside of normal business hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, as necessary
Must be able to travel for business, as necessary
